Moon of Jerusalem at The Creator Incubator | 6pm

Doug Heslop’s show Moon of Jerusalem is in collaboration with local Palestinian artist Jamie Bastoli. It includes an installation featuring sculptures, paintings and a curated loop of Palestinian short films.
The ancient symbol of the Moon of Jerusalem for Jamie’s Uncle’s restaurant in the Christian quarter of Jerusalem, which has since been forced to shut the business due to the genocidal occupation, yet the symbol hints at the ancient customs, connections and bloodlines of the Palestinian people, indigenous to their land, and strong enough to keep their humanity and culture alive.

The exhibition talks of humanity, compassion, and positive action in the face of genocide and the planned annihilation of a people.

The exhibition Moon of Jerusalem runs from 20 November to 7 December in the Big Space at The Creator Incubator.

The incorporated exhibition Visions runs from 20 to 30 November in the Little Space. Featuring artworks by former Palestinian prisoner Mohonnad Al Azzeh based in the West Bank. This exhibition was funded by Awesome Newcastle and is fundraising for Palestinian charities. See more details here.
